Free, Fast Transportation to and from IACP 2011 Hotels, Convention Center

No need to rent a car, jump on a train, or hail a cab during your October trip to Chicago; the IACP has got you covered with its complimentary shuttle bus service. This is the most convenient means of transportation available between the official conference hotels listed here and McCormick Place West (the IACP 2011 convention center).

Transportation begins Friday, October 21, at 1:00 p.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26. Please note that 12:30 p.m. represents the final departure time from McCormick Place West, and that the Hyatt McCormick Place is walking distance to the convention center and therefore has no daily shuttle.

Not only is this service free, but it is also fast: Chicago has a dedicated bus highway for convention center traffic only. If you plan to stay downtown in Chicago, the dedicated bus highway will make traveling to and from McCormick Place West and your hotel very easy. Travel time from downtown to McCormick Place West is fewer than 15 minutes.

In addition to shuttling conference attendees to and from convention center activities each day, the complimentary buses will also be on hand for IACP’s Host Chief’s Night at the Museum of Science and Industry on Monday, October 24, as well as for the Annual Banquet on Wednesday, October 26. The Best Western and Essex Inn are within walking distance of the Chicago Hilton Hotel, which is the site of the Annual Banquet, and will therefore have no shuttle service that evening.

The actual bus schedules will be posted in official conference hotels, as well as in the IACP 2011 program guide and on the IACP 2011 mobile app.

Handicap Van Service. Wheelchair-accessible transportation is available during the same hours as the complimentary shuttle bus service. To schedule the van, call 1-800-728-1025, extension 400. Please note that this number goes into effect on October 21, and calls will not be accepted before that date.
