What began as a joint meeting between the IACP, AMERIPOL, and the Colombian National Police has become a greater event than originally anticipated.
With the addition of partners from INTERPOL and the Caribbean and Latin America Police Intelligence Community Organization, the event has placed the IACP in the position of an umbrella organization that brought together key regional and international organizations under one roof, not only to share ideas through formal presentations but to conduct their respective business meetings.
Many have commented upon the utility and monetary saving of this idea, as well as the practical aspects of networking and working on real issues through the various business meetings.
Both General Oscar Naranjo, Director of the Colombian National Police, and Minister of Defense Juan Carlos Pinzón Bueno commented in their remarks, that what the IACP has created was no small and insignificant event; it has contributed significantly to regional policing, specifically on the subject of information sharing.
Both applauded the event and cited the advantages of such international cooperation. INTERPOL President Khoo Boon Hui also echoed the remarks of Minster Pinzón and Director Naranjo and encouraged future similar events.
