Conference Spotlight: Innovation Theatre Track

Thanks to high-tech gadgets, learning has never been more exciting.

While at the annual IACP conference in San Diego, California, stop by the diverse sessions offered by the Innovation Theatre Track. Designed to provide cutting-edge information about new processes and products, this track provides attendees with rare and exciting opportunities. The Innovation Theatre can be found on the Exhibit Hall floor and features 20-minute, high-energy sessions.

In this conference spotlight, the IACP is highlighting a few sessions from the many that the Innovation Theatre Track has to offer.

  • Drones are no longer just a part of our imagination. Sponsored by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems (UAS) International (AUVSI), the session “Unmanned Aviation: A Brief Look at How UAS Are Impacting Law Enforcement Operations” is sure to grab your attention. Stop by and learn the challenges and successes of unmanned vehicles deployed by law enforcement.
  • Smartphones and tablets seem to be everywhere, but are you using them to the best of your ability?  The session “4G meets the G-Man: The Use of Wireless Tablets, Smart Phones, and Multimedia Communications in Law Enforcement” can teach you how officers can dramatically improve the response time and critical actions taken early on any 9-1-1 call. Swing by and see how real-time data access can help your department.
  • While gadgets are fun, it’s important to remember the serious issues that make the job so dangerous. The session “Traumas of Law Enforcement Death” will provide the proper response measures that should be taken in the case of a line-of-duty death. Come by for information on notification of survivors, funeral protocols, and appropriate response protocol.

The Innovation Theatre sessions will provide conference goers with progressive and thought-provoking presentations. Be some of the first to learn about these upcoming methods and technologies. For more information, email Rebecca McClelland.
