IACP South American Executive Policing Seminar in São Paulo, Brazil

IACP President Walter McNeil delivered opening remarks on Sunday evening at the IACP South American Executive Policing Seminar in São Paulo, Brazil.   He welcomed the Brazilian National Secretary for Public Safety, Ms. Regina Miki. Secretary Miki has been a great supporter of the IACP conference series in Brazil. In his speech, President McNeil also recognized the host of the seminar, Secretary of Public Safety for the State of São Paulo, Antonio Ferreira Pinto. In subsequent private meetings between President McNeil and Secretary Miki, the future of the IACP conference series in Brazil was solidified and strengthened.

Yesterday, the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), represented by Executive Director Helmut Spahn, provided a morning of interactive discussions with the seminar attendees regarding major sporting event security planning. The ICSS coordinated panel, moderated by Shaun McCarthy, ICSS Director for Research and Knowledge Gathering, featured Mr. Chris Eaton, ICSS Director of Sport Integrity and past Security Advisor for FIFA; and Mr. Malcolm Tarbitt, ICSS Director of Security & Risk Advisory and Event Logistics Manager for the 2010 World Cup.
