Electronic Show Daily Will Bring IACP 2012 to You

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 24, 2012—From San Diego straight to your computer or mobile device, the latest updates from the largest law enforcement conference in the world will soon be available at your fingertips.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) announces today that throughout its annual conference—IACP 2012—in San Diego, blog entries highlighting each day’s most newsworthy information will be posted on the IACP Blog. At 5:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 3, electronic Show Daily entries will be published at www.theiacpblog.com.

The IACP encourages individuals interested in receiving the electronic Show Daily in their email inboxes to sign up for automatic updates at www.theiacpblog.com. Further, messages directing IACP Facebook fans and Twitter followers to the IACP Blog will be posted as soon as each electronic Show Daily becomes available.

“We are always on the lookout for the newest user-friendly ways to engage with IACP membership, the media and constituents,” said IACP President Walter A. McNeil, chief of police at the Quincy, Florida, Police Department. “Establishing an electronic Show Daily on the IACP Blog is our tech-savvy attempt to communicate what happened at the conference, why it’s important to you and what you don’t want to miss the next day.”

In addition to Show Daily blog entries, updates throughout each conference day on the IACP Blog, on Facebook and on Twitter will communicate stories, photos, videos and sound bites from plenary workshops, official IACP business meetings, conference-wide ceremonies and keynote addresses.

IACP Executive Director Bart R. Johnson called this suite of online activity as an “indispensible tool” for anyone interested in the conference.

“Law enforcement leaders and industry practitioners who are at the conference can use this information to optimize their schedules, and people who are not physically at the conference can keep abreast of what is happening and why they cannot afford to miss IACP 2013,” Johnson said.
