IACP Violence Against Women Team in Kentucky

The IACP’s National Law Enforcement Leadership Initiative on Violence Against Women team recently partnered with Kentucky’s Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) to assist with the development of a training event for investigators throughout the state. Leadership Initiative training faculty members Lt. Mark Wynn (retired) and Sgt. Jim Markey (retired) will present information on responding to and investigating dating/domestic violence and sexual assault.

The team is currently in Lucas, KY along with 80 participating investigators and representatives of the DOCJT. This course is providing Kentucky investigators and detectives with information regarding risk/lethality assessment, realities of perpetrators and victims, myths and misconceptions, and promising practices.
