New Feature in Police Chief Magazine Provides a Voice for Members

The Police Chief, the flagship publication of the International Chiefs of Police, has just introduced a new monthly feature: The Dispatch. The IACP knows that our members have valuable insight and input to offer and The Dispatch is one venue for that knowledge. With the introduction of this feature, readers can now submit letters to the editor, participate in monthly polls, and see what their fellow members have to say on current topics and issues covered in the magazine.

The Dispatch includes three sections.

  • Members Speak Out, which contains poll results, member data, and quotes from IACP members and Police Chief readers
  • From Our Readers, which contains selected letters to the editor
  • Your Turn, which provides readers with the topic for each month’s poll

The Dispatch is your voice in The Police Chief, and we want to hear what you have to say about law enforcement, articles in the magazine, and current issues in policing.

You can submit letters to the editor via letters@theiacp.org. The Police Chief will print selected letters in the magazine each month.

To participate in the monthly poll, visit the Police Chief online at http://www.policechiefmagazine.org and click on the question. May’s question: “What is the biggest highway safety threat today?”

As always, Police Chief looks forward to receiving article submissions from members, as well. Manuscript guidelines can be found on the Police Chief website (http://www.policechiefmagazine.org/editorial) and articles can be sent to submissions@theiacp.org!
